What is Yoga?

Yoga, from the Sanskrit root “yuj”, means union.  Yoga is the practice in which to unite the mind, body, and spirit.  Achieving this union creates a deeper sense of self and lays the path for a higher state of consciousness.  A traditional yoga practice includes a combination of physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation.   


Practicing yoga regularly will result in a strong, lean, and flexible body as well as a heightened awareness of your thoughts and actions.  Yoga has a way of helping us to make better choices in our daily lives, leading to a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
